2024 (9) TMI 1748 - SCH - Income Tax

The Supreme Court considered multiple interlocutory applications related to condonation of delay and exemption from filing certified copies in Special Leave Petitions (SLPs) bearing diary numbers 48454/2023, 1865/2024, and 1866/2024. The Court issued notice on the condonation application and recorded service as complete, with the sole respondent represented by Mr. H. Raghavendra Rao, Advocate, who filed counter affidavits. The tax effect involved is approximately Rs. 2.9 crore. The matters were listed for hearing and subsequently disposed of on 24.09.2024 by a bench comprising the Chief Justice, Mr. Justice J.B. Pardiwala, and Mr. Justice Manoj Misra. The key procedural holding was the issuance of notice on condonation and admission of the SLPs for hearing, with all interlocutory applications addressed in the disposal order.
