2024 (8) TMI 1588 - HC - Income TaxAssessment will be done in a faceless manner or not? HELD THAT - The Income Tax Department shall file a report in response to the allegations made in this writ petition within a period of seven days from date. The affidavit shall disclose whether the assessment of the petitioner will be done in a faceless manner or not. The interim order granted earlier is extended for a further period of three weeks. List this matter after two weeks under the heading To Be Mentioned .
The Calcutta High Court, through Justice Kausik Chanda, ordered the Income Tax Department to file a report within seven days addressing the allegations in the writ petition. The affidavit must specify whether the petitioner's assessment will be conducted in a faceless manner. The previously granted interim order is extended for three weeks. The matter is scheduled for mention after two weeks.
