The High Court of Judicature at Bombay heard an appeal regarding the initiation of inquiry proceedings against a Customs House Agent under the Customs House Agents Licensing Regulations, 1984. The court considered substantial questions of law related to the necessity of initiating action under the Customs Act, 1962, and the independence of inquiry proceedings from other penal actions under the Customs Act, 1961. The appeal was admitted for further consideration.
