MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION dated 31 July 2006 S.O. 1233 (E) - Whereas, the proposal of M/s. Wipro Limited for setting up of a Special Economic Zone for information technology at Hyderabad in the State of Andhra Pradesh was approved on the 22nd September, 2005 by the Board of Approval constituted by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce) number 14/1/2001-EPZ, dated the 7th August, 2001 and the possession of the land for the said purposes was already taken over by M/s. Wipro Limited on the 10th January, 2003; And whereas, sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 covers all the approval accorded or recommendation made by the Board of Approval before the commencement of the said rules for setting up of Special Economic Zone for various sectors and makes further provisions for development of setting up of such Special Economic Zones; And whereas, the Central Government with a view to give continuity to the said proposal of M/s. Wipro Limited considers it necessary that the recommendation given by the Board of Approval be notified in terms of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 ; Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 and after grant of the letter of approval on the 9th June, 2006, under sub-section (10) of section 3 of the said Act , to M/s. Wipro Limited for setting up of a Special Economic Zone for information technology, the Central Government, on being satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled, hereby notifies the following area at Manikonda Jagir Village in Rajendernagar Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Hyderabad in the State of Andhra Pradesh, comprising of the survey number and the area given in the Table below, as a Special Economic Zone, namely:- Table Survey number Area (in hectares) (1) (2) 203/3-pt 6.48 Total Area 6.48 [F.
