Rescinding of a sector specific Special Economic Zone at Village Bhadreshwar, Taluka Mundra, District Kutch, in the State of Gujarat - S.O. 2560 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 28th July, 2016 S.O.2560(E). -WHEREAS, M/s. OPGS Power Gujarat Pvt. Ltd, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a an Engineering Special Economic Zone at Village Bhadreshwar, Taluka Mundra, District Kutch, in the State of Gujarat; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified an area of 50.75.35 hectares at above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 3724 (E) dated 10th December, 2013; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government has approved the request of M/s. OPGS Power Gujarat Pvt. Ltd for transfer of Letter of Approval to its subsidiary company M/s. OPGS Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd vide letter dated 25th April, 2014. AND, WHEREAS, M/s. OPGS Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd has now proposed for full de-notification of 50.75.35 hectares area at the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Gujarat has given its No Objection to the proposal vide their letter No. IC/Infra/SEZ-Cell/1198995, dated 21st June, 2016; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Kandla Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for full de-notification of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
