Service Tax Section 85 of Finance (No. 2) Act, 1996 Effective from 1-11-1996 [Notification No. 6/96-Service Tax, dated 31-10-1996 ] In exercise of the powers conferred by section 85 of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1996 (33 of 1996), the Central Government hereby appoints the 1st day of November, 1996, as the date on which the said section of the said Act shall come into force.
