What is the main difference between deduction u/s 80U & u/s 80DD of the Act?

Manual - Deduction u/s 80DD - Deduction in respect of maintenance including medical treatment of a handicapped dependent who is a person with disability

In section 80DD deduction is meant for the dependent of the taxpayer whereas in section 80U deduction is meant for the taxpayer.
