If you remember, the deadline of 1st April 2008 was missed to reduce the Central sales tax rate (CST) from 3% to 2%. At that time the central government was working in usual course without any disturbance. This time, due to elections, we may wish that CST rates would be reduced when the new government will take the charge and announce its policies.
Till such time the CG notifies the CST rate @1 %, The applicable rate will be very much 2%.
Just wait for the election to be over
