Use of residential address for place of business

  • Contents

Dear Learned Members,

This is with respect to the captioned subject. In this regard, please note that i've a business of manufacturing small control panels(size equal to small circuit boards) and installing them in the textile machinery wherever required. Further this work is fully manual and no use of machines are required at any stage. It also involves some level of programming,

Now my business entity is in the form of an LLP and i've got all deeds and incorporation certificate with me. Further, I wish to apply for VAT/CST registration and i've gone through the Gujarat VAT act.(Note : The registered office of my LLP is in Gujarat) and they are asking for place of business.

Hence, my query is that whether I can show my residential address as place of my business and will it acceptable if I submit the my Partnership deed and other documents for registration. Or is it necessary to provide the place of business in the industrial area as my business is both manufacturing and service..

Also note that i've just started my business i've not breached the limit for excise duty or vat or service tax. But my supplier of material is asking for tin no, hence i'm forced to register it.

Please kindly advice me regarding this query.

Thanking you,

Shinil Nambrath
