Export Incentives - MEIS , Focus Market Scheme

  • Contents

We are claiming export benefit of MEIS and Focus Market Scheme . The scrips so availed is utilized towards payment of customs duty on imports . At the time of utilizing a scrip value , a part of the value of the scrip remains unutilzed ( usually less than INR value of 20,000 ) , In such cases , can these balance unutilized scrip can be used for subsequent customs duty payments OR would these balance amount gets lapsed .

you can utilizing balance amount against your subsequent custom duty, even you can utilizing for local procurement against your excise duty. but same should be possible with in validity of scrip. utilisation of scrip is not restricted up to one time. you can utilised the same up to balance of single rupee.

Dear Friend,

I fully concur with the views expressed by Mr. Thakkar.

You should always remember one thing that the amount of scrip can be utilized up to last paise either in one time or multiple times for payment of customs duty within the validity period of the scrip. Once the validity is over, then it it is not possible.

Though there was a provision for re-validation of the scrip in certain situations, DGFT, never comes for rescue of the exporter for granting such re-validation in genuine case also.

Best Regards

Suryanarayana
