BE it enacted by Parliament in the Sixty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY Short title and commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 2016. (2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, it shall come into force at once. Presently, imports of marble blocks/slabs and granite blocks/slabs are subject to a combination of non-tariff measures, namely, Quantitative Restriction (QR) and Minimum Import Price (MIP) and tariff measure, that is, customs duty at the rate of 10% levied under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 . 5.
