Circular No. 506/02/2000-CX dt. the 5th January, 2000 ECC based on PAN -introduced in Date Changed to 1/2/2000 Subject: Central Excise -New Excise Control Code (ECC) Number based on Permanent Account Number (PAN) -Date of Introduction modified -Instructions regarding. Sir, I am directed to refer to the Board's Circular number 493/59/99- CX dated 12th November, 1999 regarding introduction, of new Excise Control (new ECC) number based on Permanent Account Number (PAN) allotted by the Income Tax Department. The Government has decided to extend the date of introduction of new ECC number from 1st January, 2000 to 1st February, 2000. The aforesaid Circular stands modified to this extent. 2. The Trade and field formations may suitably be informed. 3. Receipt of this Circular may please be acknowledged.
