WEBINARS FOR TAX PRACTITIONERS BY CPC-ITR ACROSS INDIA

As part of outreach exercise by the Income Tax Department for spreading awareness among all stakeholders, a series of Webinars are going to be conducted by the Centralized Processing Center, CPC-ITR, Bengaluru, in coordination with the Regional Councils (RCs) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

The first Joint Webinar will be with CPC-ITR and the Goa Branch of ICAI on the 31st of August 2020 from 3:00 p.m. onwards. This will be followed by Joint Webinars in the month of September 2020 with CPC-ITR and each of the RCs of ICAI, namely with Southern India RC on 3rd , Central India RC on 4th, Northern India RC on 7th, Western India RC on 8th and Easter India RC on 9th September.

A uniform structure and timing will be followed for each of these webinars which will be moderated by DIT, CPC-ITR and the highlight will be comprehensive powerpoint presentations by distinguished panelists comprising Senior Officers from CPC-ITR, Bengaluru, not only about the use of advanced technology in processing of Income-tax Returns (ITRs) at CPC but also on how to do error-free filing of returns which would facilitate quicker processing. There will be detailed presentations on common issues where demands are raised by CPC-ITR; Grievance redressal mechanism at CPC-ITR, Post-processing issues; Miscellaneous issues like Legal Heir, Amalgamation, Adjustment of IT refunds with other Department/Agency demands, Fraudulent PAN/TAN issues, Refund related issues for NRIs, Requirement for Pre-validation of Bank Account, Refund reissue procedure, etc. The process of rectification of errors will be explained in simple and lucid manner along with clear guidance on various other frequently raised issues. There will be a presentation on the enhanced taxpayer services as CPC 1.0 is transitioning to CPC 2.0 platform this year. These will be followed by a detailed discussion among the notable panelists from the respective RCs of ICAI and our Officers to clarify the diverse aspects and queries of the taxpayers, CAs and Tax Practitioners. This will definitely help to clarify the apprehensions raised by all stakeholders and to further pave way for improvement in taxpayer services.
