2002 (12) TMI 532 - AT - Customs

The appeal was filed by the Regional Manager of UPSRTC to set aside a redemption fine of Rs. 1,00,000 imposed on a confiscated bus carrying smuggled goods. The Appellate Tribunal ruled that the Regional Manager did not have the legal standing to challenge the fine as he was not the owner of the bus. The appeal was dismissed.
