2023 Atmanirbhar Bharat Budget Unveils Initiatives for Tourism, Green Hydrogen, MSME Support, and Digitalization in India
The 2023 Atmanirbhar Bharat Budget aims to strengthen India's economy through various initiatives. Key proposals include the 'Dekho apna desh' scheme to boost tourism, establishment of 'Unity' malls, and support for student skilling. Coastal shipping and green hydrogen production are prioritized, with significant investments in these sectors. The budget allocates substantial funds for railways, green hydrogen, and digitalization of agricultural credit societies. It introduces measures to support MSMEs, agritech, fisheries, and rural employment. Additionally, the budget emphasizes ease of doing business by decriminalizing numerous compliances and using PAN as a common ID for government entities.
  1. 'Dekho apna desh' scheme to promote tourism.
  2. 'Unity' mall to be setup in the capital of states to promote one district one product, handicrafts of the states and neighbouring states as well.
  3. Stipend support for 47 lakh students for skilling and sector specific skilling.
  4. Costal shipping to promoted as low cost transport using PPP model
  5. Green Hydrogen production of 5MMT by 2030 to be government's target.
  6. 1cr farmers to be encouraged to take up natural farming, by setting up resource centers.
  7. 19,700cr outlay for national green hydrogen mission.
  8. Total government capital expenditure to be at 10 lakh crores.
  9. PM tribal group scheme to be launched.
  10. 7000 cr  for phase 3 e courts for dispute resolution.
  11. Refund scheme for failed MSMEs.
  12. PAN to be used as the common ID for all government related entities to facilitate ease of doing business
  13. 29,000 compliances and more than 3,000 legal provisions have been de-criminalised for ease of doing business
  14. 2.4lakh crore outlay for railways highest ever allocation in a budget, 9 times more than the outlay compared to 2013-2014 
  15. Government to give package to empower artisans, promotion of tourism to be taken up by launching programs along with state governments.
  16. Government to help in growth of agritech industry by setting up 'Agriculture accelerator' funds to provide help to rural entrepreneurs.
  17. Scheme to boost fisheries by setting up special micro funds.
  18. Large co operative societies to help boost fisheries and rural employment.
  19. The agricultural credit target increased to Rs 20 lakh cr.
  20. New sub-scheme for PM Matsya Sampada Yojana with targeted investment of Rs 6,000 cr.
  21. 60,000 primary agricultural credit societies will be digitalized.
  22. Country-wide mapping of cooperative societies will be done.
  23. De-centralised storage capacities for farmers.
  24. Uncovered panchayat villages will get dairy, farming and other cooperative societies.
  25. More than 100 nursing societies will be established.
  26. A national digital library for adolescents and children to be established.
  27. To inculcate financial literacy financial  organizations will be encouraged to provide reading materials to district libraries.
  28. 'Ekalavya' schools to have 3.5 lakh tribal students.
