New Procedures for Exporting Organic Products: Certification and Accreditation Requirements Under Export and Import Policy 2002-2007.

The Director General of Foreign Trade has established procedures for exporting certified organic products under the Export and Import Policy 2002-2007. Organic products can only be exported if they are produced, processed, and packed with a valid Organic Certificate from a certifying agency accredited by the National Steering Committee for Organic Products (NSCOP). Agencies accredited by APEDA, Spices Board, Coffee Board, and Tea Board are recognized by NSCOP. The National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) published in June 2004 aims to support the development of organic agriculture. This notice supersedes previous public notices from June and July 2001.
