New Amendment: Import Authorizations for Restricted Items Must Use Specified Ports Per Paragraph 2.37A of Foreign Trade Policy.

An amendment to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.I) has been issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09. A new paragraph, 2.37A, has been added, stipulating that import authorizations for restricted items must be directed through specified sea ports, air ports, ICDs, or LCS, as chosen by the applicant. The authorization must be registered at the designated port, and all imports must occur through this port unless customs authorities grant permission for an alternative. This amendment is enacted in the public interest.
