Central Government Extends Rural Children's Education Project in Tamil Nadu Under Section 35AC for Three More Years

The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the project "Comprehensive and supportive free education for rural children aged 3 to 12 years," managed by a trust in Tamil Nadu, under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved for three years ending in the financial year 2010-11 and extended for another three years until 2013-14, the project is now further extended for three years from 2014-15 to 2016-17. The project, with an estimated cost of 4.8 crore, continues to be recognized due to its proper execution, as recommended by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
