India Amends Customs Notification to Exempt Goods at Kamalasagar Border Haat from Duties, Effective June 6, 2015.

The Government of India has amended Notification No. 60/2011-Customs to include Kamalasagar (Tripura) on the India-Bangladesh border. This amendment exempts specified goods traded at the Kamalasagar Border Haat from customs duties under the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, effective June 6, 2015. Importers must provide evidence to the customs authorities that the goods are locally produced in Bangladesh and imported through designated land routes for sale in border haats at Balat, Kalaichar, Srinagar (Tripura), or Kamalasagar (Tripura). This amendment is enacted under the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
