India Withdraws Customs Duty Exemptions on Select Goods; Effective April 1, 2016, Under Customs Act Section 25(1.

The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 14/2016-Customs to amend Notification No. 39/96-Customs dated July 23, 1996. This amendment withdraws the customs duty exemptions on certain goods by omitting serial numbers 9, 9A, 10, and 10A from the notification's table and related entries in paragraph 2, item (ix). These changes will be effective from April 1, 2016. This action is taken under the authority of section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
