Central Government Approves IT/ITES Special Economic Zone in Bangalore; Designated as Inland Container Depot.

The Central Government has approved the establishment of a Sector Specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for IT/ITES by a private entity at Pujanahalli Village, Devanahalli Taluk, Bangalore, Karnataka, under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The SEZ covers an area of 2.76 hectares, with specific survey numbers provided. An Approval Committee, comprising various government officials and representatives, has been constituted to oversee the SEZ. Additionally, the SEZ is designated as an Inland Container Depot effective from June 9, 2016, under the Customs Act, 1962.
