Central Government Amends Customs Tariff with New Entry "2A" Under Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962

Notification No. 36/2000-Customs, dated April 5, 2000, amends Notification No. 19/2000-Customs from March 1, 2000. Exercising powers under section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, and clause 86 of the Finance Bill, 2000, the Central Government introduces changes in the customs tariff for specific goods. The amendment adds a new entry, "2A," to the existing table in the original notification, listing various tariff headings, including 0805.40, 0808.10, and others. This amendment is deemed necessary in the public interest by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
