Gujarat Amends GST Rates on Lottery Supply: Schedule II Changes, Schedule IV Now 14% for "Any Chapter Lottery.

The Government of Gujarat has issued Notification No. 1/2020-State Tax (Rate) to amend the previous notification dated June 30, 2017, concerning the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on the supply of lottery. Effective March 1, 2020, the amendment involves changes in tax schedules: Schedule II at 6% omits S. No. 242 and its entries, while Schedule IV at 14% substitutes S. No. 228 with "Any chapter Lottery." This notification is enacted under the Gujarat Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, based on the Council's recommendations.
