Assam Amends GST Rates: Entry "9503" Updated, "Diethylcarbamazine" Added to List 1, Effective June 2, 2021.

The Government of Assam has issued Notification No. 01/2021-STATE TAX (RATE) dated January 24, 2022, amending Notification No. 1/2017 (Rate) to adjust the Assam GST rate on certain goods. Under the powers granted by the Assam Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, changes include substituting the entry "9503" in Schedule I - 2.5% against S. No. 259A and adding "Diethylcarbamazine" as entry 231 in List 1. These amendments, recommended by the Council, are retroactively effective from June 2, 2021.
