Approval Committee Formed for IT SEZ Under Special Economic Zones Act, 2005; Involves Key Government and Developer Reps

The Central Government has established an Approval Committee for the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) dedicated to information technology and IT-enabled services at Village Patia, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The committee consists of the Development Commissioner as Chairperson, and members include representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Zonal Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Customs or Central Excise, Income Tax, and the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, two officers from the Government of Orissa and a representative from the developer, M/s DLF Limited, are included. This notification was issued on September 25, 2008.
