Amendment to Excise Duty Exemption: Woven Fabrics of Wool and Special Yarns Now Included Under Notification No. 132/94-C.E.

The Central Government issued Notification No. 132/94-C.E. on October 21, 1994, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise Act, 1957, amending a prior notification (No. 121/94-Central Excises) from August 11, 1994. This amendment exempts woven fabrics of wool, rubber yarn, and other special yarns from excise duties when consumed captively. Specifically, changes were made to the tariff classifications in the notification's table, substituting "51.03" with "51.03, 51.06" for one entry and "55.06" with "55.06, 56.04, 56.06" for another.
