Customs Act Amended: "Alpha Interferon (NL) Injection" Added as Life-Saving Drug with Exemptions for Easier Importation.

The Central Government has amended Notification No. 208/81-Customs, dated September 22, 1981, under the Customs Act, 1962, to include "Alpha Interferon (NL) Injection" as item number 220 in the schedule of life-saving drugs or medicines. This amendment, issued through Notification No. 12/90-Cus on February 2, 1990, is made in the public interest to provide customs exemptions for this specific life-saving drug, thereby facilitating its importation and availability.
