Company Law Board Restructures Benches Under Section 10e(4b) of Companies Act, 1956; Effective August 23, 1999

The Company Law Board, under Section 10e(4b) of the Companies Act, 1956, has reconstituted its benches effective August 23, 1999. The Principal Bench, comprising the Chairman or Vice-Chairman and one member from a specified list, will handle matters under certain sections of the Companies Act and the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act. Regional Benches in New Delhi, Chennai, Calcutta, and Mumbai will address other specified sections. Single members at Regional Benches will manage additional matters, including those under the Reserve Bank of India Act. Benches may hold sessions anywhere in India and refer cases to the Principal Bench if necessary.
