India Updates Import Rules for Films, Referencing Public Notice No. 64/1997-2002 under Foreign Trade Act 1992.

The Government of India, under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued Notification No. 6/2002-2007, amending the Import Licensing notes in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for 2002-2007. This amendment introduces sub-para 2, specifying that the import of films, including those on various video formats, will be regulated by the provisions outlined in Public Notice No. 64/1997-2002 dated 29th January 2002. This amendment is enacted under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and is issued in the public interest.
