Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009 Amendment: Non-EDI Ports Now Eligible for Focus Product and Market Scheme Benefits.

The Central Government has amended the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2004-2009, effective as of May 23, 2007. The amendment involves the deletion of the words "through EDI enabled ports" from Paragraphs 3.9.2 and 3.10.2 of the FTP. As a result, shipments from non-EDI enabled ports are now eligible for benefits under the Focus Product Scheme and Focus Market Scheme. This change is issued in the public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade and Ex Officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
