New Delhi [India], May 16: In a bold statement of market entry and technological capability, Kerala-based electric mobility infrastructure company GO EC has launched operations in Nepal with a high-impact business move, completing South Asia’s first cross-border EV expedition from Kochi to Kathmandu.

The 2,000+ km journey, organized by GO EC in partnership with Tata Motors, doubles as a powerful brand activation and proof-of-concept demonstration for long-distance EV travel. The team, including GO EC Nepal Director Unnikrishnan, CTO Yadhu Krishnan, and YouTuber Yasin Muhammed, traversed key Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Varanasi before arriving in Kathmandu.

GO EC’s foray into Nepal includes an aggressive rollout strategy, with plans to install 50 fast-charging stations across the country in the coming months. The company already operates over 250 DC fast-charging stations in Kerala and aims to replicate its scalable model in Nepal, tapping into the country’s surging demand for electric mobility.

"This is not just a symbolic journey; it’s a strategic market entry initiative," said P.G. Ramnath, CEO and Co-founder of GO EC. "We are here to catalyze Nepal’s EV ecosystem with robust charging infrastructure and proven operational experience." The EV convoy was accorded a warm welcome in Nepal on May 13 by representatives from the Indian Embassy, Athul Madan and Suman Shekhar. A reception organized later for the team members at Tata Motors’ Nepal headquarters, which was headed by Prasanna Ranganathan, Country Manager for Tata Motors Nepal, reflected strong regional support and corporate alignment.

The journey was flagged off in Kochi by tech influencer Vivek Venugopal in the presence of top executives from GO EC and Tata Motors, signaling a close public-private collaboration in advancing clean mobility in South Asia.

With this high-visibility initiative, GO EC positions itself not just as an infrastructure provider but as a regional e-mobility leader committed to innovation, scalability, and cross-border sustainability solutions.
