Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Electronic Hardware at the State of Tamil Nadu - Area de-notified - Central Government rescind Notification No. S.O. 2101(E) dated 05th December, 2007. - S.O. 4637(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ DIVISION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 22nd September, 2022 S.O. 4637(E). -WHEREAS, M/s. Foxconn India Developer Pvt. Ltd. (now known as M/s. FIH India Developer Pvt. Ltd.), had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Electronic Hardware at Santhavelore-B, Chittur Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , notified an area of 10.39 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 2101(E) dated 05 th December, 2007 ; AND, WHEREAS, M/s Foxconn India Developer Pvt. Ltd. (now known as M/s. FIH India Developer Pvt. Ltd.) has now proposed to de-notify the entire area of 10.39 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the Government of Tamil Nadu has given No Objection Certificate to the proposal vide letter No. 11284/MIE.1/2021-1 dated 06.12.2021; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of entire area of 10.39 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
