MINISTRY OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 1st December, 2011 S.O. 2725(E).-- In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 8 read with sub-section (1) of Section 10 of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Govemment hereby appoints Shri Ashok Chawla as the Chairperson of the Competition Commission of india with effect from the 20th October, 2011 (afternoon) for a period of five years or till he attains the age of sixty-five years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest. . 2. The terms and conditions of his service will be governed by the Competition Commission of India (Salary, Allowances and other Tenns and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and other Members) Rules, 2003, as amended from time to time.
