Amends Works Contract (Composition Scheme for Payment of Service Tax) Rules, 2007 - Rate increased from 4% to 4.8% - 10/2012 - Service Tax

[TO BE PUBLISED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA, EXTRAORDINARY, PART II, SECTION 3, SUB SECTION (i)] Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Notification No. 10/2012 Service Tax New Delhi, the 17th March, 2012 G.S.R. 208(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 93 and 94 of the Finance Act, 1994 (32 of 1994), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Works Contract (Composition Scheme for Payment of Service Tax) Rules, 2007 , namely: 1. (1) These rules may be called the, Works Contract (Composition Scheme for Payment of Service Tax) Amendment Rules 2012. (2) They shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 2012. 2. In the Works Contract (Composition Scheme for Payment of Service Tax) Amendment Rules, 2007 , in rule 3, in sub-rule (1), for the words four per cent. , the figures and words 4.8 per cent. shall be substituted.
