This notification fixes the rate of interest at nine per cent. per annum for the purposes of section 11BB Supersedes Notification No. 41/2000 CE(NT) dated 12/5/2000 This Notification has been superseded vide Notification No. 17/2002 CE(NT) dated 13/5/2002 11 th May, 2001 Notification No. 24/2001-C.E. (N.T.) In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11BB of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 41/2000-Central Excise (N.T.), dated the 12th May, 2000 published in the Gazette of India vide number G.S.R. 448(E), dated the 12th May, 2000, the Central Government hereby fixes the rate of interest at nine per cent. per annum for the purposes of the said section.
