Amendments in the Central Excise Rules, 1944
NOTIFICATION NO. 06/2000-CE(N.T.)

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may. be called the Central Excise (First Amendment) Rules, 2000.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Central Excise Rules, 1944,-
(i) in rule 100G,-
(a) in sub-rule, in the second provision, for the figure and letters "11.00 A.M.", the figure and letters "2.00 P. M." shall be substituted;
(b) in the sub rule (3), for the figure and letters "l. 1.00 A.M.", the figure and letters "2.00 P.M." shall be substituted;
(ii) in rule 224,-
(a) in sub-rule (2), in the second provision, for the ' figure and letters "11.00 A.M.", the figure and letters "2.00 P.M." shall be substituted;
(b) in sub-rule (2A), for the figure and letters "11.00 A.M.", the figure and letters "2.00 P.M." shall be substituted;
