Offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act - Held that - We have been informed that Rs. 40000/- has been deposited by the appellant in the Courts below in the following manner - (i) Rs. 25000/- was deposited by the appellant on 16-11-2000 vide Voucher No.287890; (ii) Rs. 15000/- was deposited by the appellant on 30-1-2002. The balance amount of Rs. 35000/- has been deposited by the appellant in the Registry of this Court. It is ordered that both these amounts shall be handed over by the respective Registries to the respondent within a period of four weeks from today. Further the appellant is granted a period of two weeks from today within which he is directed to pay a fine of Rs. 5000/-. The appeal is disposed of in the afore-stated terms.
