The Supreme Court, through Justices Sanjay Karol and Satish Chandra Sharma, entertained the petition challenging the High Court of Allahabad's order dated 07-05-2025 in Criminal Misc. Bail Application No.46321/2024 ("Sanjay Jain vs. Union of India & Anr."). The Court issued notice returnable on 04.09.2025, permitting dasti service and directing service steps within two weeks. The petitioner's counsel is authorized to serve the Union of India's standing counsel, with a requirement that respondents file a counter affidavit before the next listing. Importantly, the Court ordered that in the event of arrest related to Complaint Case No.6085 of 2021 (Special Chief Judicial Magistrate, Meerut), the petitioner "shall be released on bail on the appropriate terms and conditions as may be fixed by the Investigating Officer/Arresting Officer." The petitioner must maintain good conduct and refrain from attempting to influence witnesses until trial completion.
