The Appellate Tribunal CEGAT, Mumbai ruled in favor of the appellant regarding the export of 'Calamus Roots' seized by the Customs authorities. The goods were not in the Negative List of exports as per an amended Public Notice, and a certificate confirmed they were cultivated, not wild. The appeal was allowed, and the orders were deemed invalid. (Case citation: 2001 (6) TMI 543 - CEGAT, Mumbai)
