Attention of Custom House Agents all concerned members of Trade Industry is invited to the Public Notice No. 13/99-(CC)dated 31.05.1999, issued by this Commissionerate vide which minimum volume of work was fixed under Regulation 10(1) (a) of the Custom House Agents Licensing Regulations, 1984. The subject Regulations have since been superseded and at present Custom House Agents Licensing Regulations, 2004, are in force. 2. In terms of Regulation 11(2) (a) of the Custom House Agents Licensing Regulations, 2004, the Commissioner of Customs is empowered to specify the norms in respect of minimum volume of work. 3. Keeping in view, the volume of trade and the number of Customs House Agents working at Customs Commissionerate Ahmedabad, the norms of minimum volume of work have been reviewed, after considering the minimum volume of work / business prescribed by Mumbai Customs House, for renewal of Customs House Agents Licence, vide Public Notice No. 35/2002 dated 19.03.2002. 4. Accordingly, in exercise of the powers vested in me, vide Regulation 11 (2) (a) of Customs House Agents Licensing Regulations 2004, the undersigned hereby prescribes the following norms for minimum volume of work for the Customs House Agents, working under the Jurisdiction of Ahmedabad Customs Commissionerate, to become eligible for renewal of C.H.A. Licence, under Regulation 11 (1) of Customs House Agents Licensing Regulation 2004:- MINIMUM VOLUME OF WORK (BUSINESS) PRESCRIBED 150 Documents (e.g. Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, Baggage Declaration Forms and T.P.) per year. OR Clearance or shipment of 1500 packages per year or 2000 Tons for liquid bulk cargo per year. AND (iii) Clearance or shipment of packages of value not less than ₹ 5 (Five) Crores per year OR (iv). Payment of Duty not less than ₹ 1 (One) Crore per year. 5. This Public Notice super cedes this Customs Commissionerate Public Notice No. 13/99 - (CC), dated 31.05.1999, issued in this regard.
