Procedure for allocation of quota for import of Urad - DGFT - 22/(2015 2020)

Government of India Ministry of Commerce Industry Department of Commerce Directorate General of Foreign Trade Public Notice No. 22/(2015 2020) New Delhi: Dated 1 October, 2020 Subject: Procedure for allocation of quota for import of Urad. In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 1.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015 - 2020 read with Paragraph 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015 - 2020 , the Director General of Foreign Trade, consequent to Notification S.O. 3446 (E) dated 01.10.2020 issued by Ministry of Commerce Industry, hereby notifies the procedure for allocation of quota for import of 1.5 lakh MT of Urad [Beans of the SPP Vigna Mungo (L.) Hepper] under HS Code 07133110, 07139010 and 07139090 of Chapter 7 of ITC (HS), 2017, Schedule - I (Import Policy), for the period up to 31 st March, 2021, for the fiscal year 2020-21 2. The quota of 1.5 lakh MT of Urad shall be distributed equally, or for the quantity applied, whichever is lower, only amongst the eligible and verified applicants who were allotted quota for import of Urad in June, 2020. 3. DGFT reserves the right to make any changes in allocation, as deemed fit, at any point of time. Those applicants, who had been issued license in June, 2020 for import of Urad and subsequently, during the field level inspections conducted by the Regional Authorities of DGFT, were found to be non-existent at the given addresses or to have submitted false information / documents, will not be considered for issuance of license under the quota notified vide Notification S.O. 3446 (E) dated 01.10.2020 , for import of Urad. 4. The eligible and verified applicants who have been issued licenses will have to ensure that the import consignment of Urad reaches the Indian ports on or before 31.03.2021.
