Maintenance of separate data (a) Modvat credit taken and utilised out of countervailing duty paid on imports against Bills of Entry, and (b) Modvat credit taken and utilised against Central Excise Gate Passes Circular No. 51/86-CX.6 Dated 28-11-1986 [From F. No. 211/88/86-CX.6] Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Central Board of Excise Customs, New Delhi Subject : Maintenance of separate data (a) Modvat credit taken and utilised out of countervailing duty paid on imports against Bills of Entry, and (b) Modvat credit taken and utilised against Central Excise Gate Passes. I am directed to say that Board desires that at the end of every month an abstract of credits taken on the RG-23A Part II should be prepared indicating separately the amounts credited as countervailing duty (on the basis of Bills of Entry etc.) and Central Excise duty (on the basis of gate passes etc.). 2. You are accordingly requested to bring these instructions to the notice of all concerned Central Excise Officers working under your charge and ensure strict compliance of these instructions with effect from 1-12-1986. 3. Receipt of these instructions may please be acknowledged.
