Notification Under Section 35AC in respect of National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare. - F.No.V.27015/1/2013-SO (NAT.COM) - Income Tax

MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16 th May, 2013 S. O. 1253 (E). In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) read with clause (b) of the Explanation to section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Government, on the recommendations of the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, hereby notifies the institutions approved by the said National Committee, mentioned in column (2) of the Table below, and approves the eligible projects or schemes specified to be carried on by the said institutions and the estimated cost thereof as mentioned in column (3) of the said Table, and also specifies in the column (4) of the Table the maximum amount of such cost which may be allowed as deduction under the said section 35AC for the period of approval, namely:- Serial Number Name of the institution Project or scheme and estimated cost thereof Maximum amount of cost to be allowed as deduction under section 35AC (1) (2) (3) (4) 1. Construction of class rooms, toilet blocks, auditorium, dining hall and other infrastructure and water proofing, provision of drinking water facility by way of pumps, bore wells, water filter etc., desks, benches, note books, toys and computers to Govt. Schools. (Cost of Rs. 7.65 crore). Rs. 7.65 crore for three years commencing with the financial years 2013-14 i.e. 2013-14, 2014-15 2015-16. 3. Bethlehem Abhaya Bhavan Charitable Society, Koovappady, Perumbavoor, Ernakulam- 683 544. Renovation and Expansion of the Charity Home for the mentally challenged. (Cost of Rs. 22.43 crore) Rs. 22.43 crore for three years commencing with the financial years 2013-14 i.e. 2013-14, 2014-15 2015-16. 4. Haroa Al-Jamiatul Islamia Darul Uloom Kalikapur, P.O. Sadarpur Behala, P.S.-Harora, Dist-North 24 Parganas - 743445. (West Bengal). Maintenance of present activities. (Cost of Rs. 17.00 crore) Rs. 17.00 crore for three years commencing with the financial years 2013-14 i.e. 2013-14, 2014-15 2015-16. 5. Bharatesh Education Trust, BC-188, Dharwar Road, Belgaum-590 016, Karnataka. Educational Technical Campus, Hostel Facilities for students and Vocational Training Medical facilities for weaker section people. (Cost of Rs. 12.00 crore including a corpus fund of Rs. 10.00 crore) Rs. 12.00 crore including a corpus fund of Rs. 10.00 crore for three years commencing with the financial years 2013-14 i.e. 2013-14, 2014-15 2015-16. 9. (Cost of Rs. 15.34 crore) Rs. 15.34 crore for three years commencing with the financial years 2013-14 i.e. 2013-14, 2014-15 2015-16. II. This notification shall remain in force for a period of three years in relation to financial years 2013-14, 2014-15 2015-16 in respect of the projects or schemes mentioned at serial numbers 1 to 9 of the Table above.
