Rescinds the sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Village Malumichampatti, Taluka Coimbatore South, District Coimbatore in the State of Tamil Nadu. - S.O. 986(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 1 st May, 2012 S.O. 986(E).-- WHEREAS, M/s. Larsen Toubro Limited had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Village Malumichampatti, Taluka Coimbatore South, District Coimbatore in the State of Tamil Nadu; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules 2006 , had notified an area of 11.0388 hectares at above location as Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 65(E) dated 12th January, 2010 ; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Larsen Toubro Limited has proposed to denotify the entire area of 11.0388 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone and the Central Government has granted letter of approval for denotification of above area on 7 th February; 2012; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission [ F.
