Sector specific SEZ for Electronic Hardware and Software including IT and ITES at Hinjewadi, Pune in the State of Maharashtra - de-notification of entire area of 10.968 hectares - Notification No. S.O. 2874 (E) dated 12th December, 2008 rescinded - S.O. 4134 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ DIVISION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 2nd September, 2022 S.O. 4134(E) .-WHEREAS, M/s. Kumar Builders Township Ventures Pvt. Ltd. (now known as M/s. Ashdan Township Ventures Pvt. Ltd.) had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Electronic Hardware and Software including Information Technology and Information Technology enabled Services at Hinjewadi, Pune in the State of Maharashtra; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules 2006, notified an area of 10.968 hectares at above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Gazette Notification Number S.O. 2874 (E) dated 12th December, 2008; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Kumar Builders Township Ventures Pvt. Ltd. (now known as M/s. Ashdan Township Ventures Pvt. Ltd.) has now proposed to de-notify the entire area of 10.968 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the Government of Maharashtra has given No Objection Certificate to the proposal vide letter No. SEZ-2018/CR-148/Ind-2 dated 31st March, 2022. Further, the Government of Maharashtra propose to develop the land as Integrated Township Project under their Integrated Township Policy promulgated vide Notification dated 30.03.2019; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of entire area of 10.968 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
