covering letter for VCES, Service Tax

Respected Experts,

We have not  paid service tax under GTA for the year 10-11 now we declaring the taxable value under VCES for which kindly provide us format of covering letter to submit to the Dept.

Dear Manju,

There is no specific format of covering letter to be submitted to the Dept.. What is required is that you address it as under:

Assistant Commissioner,

Technical

Head Quarter

Service Tax

Regarding the address it depends on the jurisdiction you fall under.Thereafter in the body just mention the name of your co followed by the regn. no., the period for which declaration is made and other issues you think fit.
