Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) Aims to offset infrastructural inefficiencies and associated costs involved in the export of goods or products produced as well as manufactured in the country, especially products of high export intensity, employment potential and to improve India’s export competitiveness in the world market. The Service Exports from India Scheme ( SEIS Scheme ) and ( MEIS Scheme ) have been introduced in India in 2015 and are valid for 5 years i.e. from 2015-20. This scheme has been introduced as part of the New Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20 and replaces the Service from India Scheme (SFIC) which was applicable earlier.
