Refund application - Different services, Service Tax

If a refund application is preferred in which value of services are different from one in the self asessed return filed.Is it permissible ?

There can't be different figures in two statutory return/document submitted to the same authority. If the difference is genuine then better a reconciliation along with the reason of difference may be filed.
