Wholesale Price Indices for Primary Articles and Fuel & Power in India (Base: 2004-05 = 100)Review for the week ended 12th March, 2011 - News and Press Release Dated:- 24-3-2011 - News - The WPI for the week ended 12 th March, 2011 in respect of Primary Articles and Fuel Power is given below: PRIMARY ARTICLES (Weight 20.12%) The index for this major group rose by 1.0 percent to 188.0 (Provisional) from 186.1 (Provisional) for the previous week. The annual rate of inflation, calculated on point to point basis, stood at 13.53 percent (Provisional) for the week ended 12/03/2011 (over 13/03/2010) as compared to 12.31 percent (Provisional) for the previous week (ended 05/03/2011). X X X X Extracts X X X X X X X X Extracts X X X X ..... index showed variations during the week are as follows:- The index for 'Food Articles' group rose by 0.4 percent to 179.6 (Provisional) from 178.8 (Provisional) for the previous week due to higher prices of poultry chicken, fruits vegetables and barley (2% each) and masur, jowar and gram (1% each). However, the prices of tea (7%), ragi (2%) and condiments spices, moong and egg (1% each) declined. The index for 'Non-Food Articles' group rose by 3.3 percent to 190.3 (Provisional) from 184.3 (Provisional) for the previous week due to higher prices of logs timber (22%), raw cotton (12%), raw jute and groundnut seed (6% each) and fodder (1%).
