It is proposed to introduce the Customs EDI Community System which seeks to integrate Custom House with other agencies such as Mumbai Port Trust, Shipping Agent, Exporters, DGFT, Export Promotion Council RBI, etc. The key objectives that the Customs EDI Communication System would be (i) All the agencies of government should present a single face to the user. (ii) Data captured in the EDI community system, at whatever point, should be made available to all other agencies as and when they need the same to process a trade transaction. (iii) As far as possible the importer/exporter should be required to interface with only one agency and that too only once. ..... ion for allotment of Export Rotation number would continue as per Public Notice No.19/2001 dated 19-02-2001 It may be noted that the Vessel Code (i.e. the radio call sign of the vessel)and shipping line code is required to be indicated at the time of applying for a Export Rotation number. The directories containing vessel codes and shipping line codes have been handed over by MbPT to Customs on 30-04-02. These directories have been loaded on to ICES/Export Server of Mumbai Customs. The codification of vessel directory and Shipping line directory is completed by MbPT for all vessels. The codes are updated by MbPT on IPA website http://ipa.nic.in . ..... third copy retained at the Docks. 5. PORT CLEARANCE. 5.1. APPLICATION FOR PORT CLEARANCE Once the entry outwards has been granted, relevant particulars would already be available in the system. With effect from 15-05-2002, the Port Clearance would be granted on the system, by the Deputy Commissioner (Exports) of EP Commissionerate, New Customs House on receipt of the manual application and relevant documents as per existing procedure. For Electronic Data Interchange Customs require vessel code i.e. vessel s radio call sigh and line code in the application for export rotation number. MbPT has prepared a directory of vessel codes and line codes for the vessels, which have called at MbPT, and for the lines operating at MbPT respectively. The information is available at Indian Ports Association s website ipa.nic.in which can be used by the agents while applying to the customs for Export Rotation Number.
